YUP. Prince's dad is a mafia boss, and one that controls a lot of power and deals with witches. Prince's family actually contributes a lot of knowledge to Shibusen about the whereabouts of known witches, and helps students become Death Scythes. :3

Despite his family ties, Prince isn't /that/ fabulous on his own. Prince is constantly bluffing about his own power and is never what he leads people on to believe. True, he's not total shit but he lies constantly and throws off Cam.
